Welcome Back to Tire Mom!

Today is the 7 Year Mark for the accident that killed my husband, Clayton. I do not say anniversary because anniversaries are happy times for me. So today I just wanted to share with you what I had put up on facebook back in 2014. I had hope back then for comfort and peace but I was still deeply hurting inside and was not handling my grief very well.

What echoes in my mind and heart is what Dieter F. Uchtdorf wrote in a talk titled: Grateful in any Circumstance.

We Are Not Made for Endings

“In light of what we know about our eternal destiny, is it any wonder that whenever we face the bitter endings of life, they seem unacceptable to us? There seems to be something inside of us that resists endings.

Why is this? Because we are made of the stuff of eternity. We are eternal beings, children of the Almighty God, whose name is Endless and who promises eternal blessings without number. Endings are not our destiny.

The more we learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, the more we realize that endings here in mortality are not endings at all. They are merely interruptions—temporary pauses that one day will seem small compared to the eternal joy awaiting the faithful.

How grateful I am to my Heavenly Father that in His plan there are no true endings, only everlasting beginnings.”

Five years later, today, I can truly tell you that this Tire Mom journey has helped me heal and has brought me the peace and comfort that I was hoping and longing for back then.

I look forward to sharing another day with you on my journey!
