Will you coin your tires this month?

You have heard the question: “Who coined the phrase…?” And you get to fill in the blank.

Well, I am coming up with the question: Will you coin your tires this month?

In my article on tire tread, I talk about the importance of why to check your tire tread each month and how to check your tire tread each month.

Will you coin your tires this month?

Why:

 It could save your life!

 How:

Penny Test:  Take a penny with the image of Abraham Lincoln facing you, insert the top of the penny into the grooves upside down.  If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, your tire tread depth is less than 2/32”, which means that it is time to get new tires.

Quarter Test:  Take a quarter with the image of Washington facing you, insert the top of the quarter into the grooves of the tire upside down. If Washington’s head touches the tread that means that you have 4/32” left on your tread so you are getting close to getting new tires.

The tread on your tires allows your car to stay connect to the road.  Will you coin your tires this month? I certainly hope so!

Stay safe,
