I’m Diana Hubner. Welcome to Tire Mom. I’m glad you’re here.

The title “Tire Mom” probably needs some explanation. In December 2018,  I completed my solo road trip to visit all 50 states and purchase a set of safe tires for one family or individual in each one. It was an amazing journey, and I want to share it with you in this blog series.

Why on earth I would do that requires explanation as well. On Father’s Day 2012, my husband of twenty-seven years was killed in a tragic automobile accident which started by the tread coming off an old tire. I know firsthand the devastating loss that can occur when one of the foundational safety features on a car fails. I can’t buy each of YOU 4 brand new safe tires, but if you’ll join me for the next 10 weeks, I’ll take you on my journey and educate you at the same time.

As you may have already guessed, my travels were not just about tires. That was the impetus for launching out on a trip many thought was craziness, but the result was so much more. I experienced profound healing from my grief as I covered all those miles and helped and enlightened all those people, and I want to share some of that too. We will all experience loss at some point in our lives, and I know at a deep level that I’m to help saves lives in more ways than one.

So, join me, Monday-Friday, here on the Tire Mom blog, I’ll share a piece of my journey, taking you to places you may never have been, teaching you about tire safety and the need for public awareness and hopefully providing some insights into the arduous process of healing from grief.
