Welcome back to Tire Mom! I haven’t done an exact count, but I probably know more people in Utah than in any other state. Not only did Clayton and I spend a great deal of time there over the years, but many people we knew from other places have settled in the area. Needless to say, I wanted to see as many family members and old friends as I could, not just to reconnect but to educate them about the Tire Halo.
My second daughter, Carlyn, and her husband, Parker, were my Tire Mom #38 couple. I was holding true to my principle of taking care of my family first, and it was a good thing. Their tires had tread wearing down. I was NOT going to fall into the “the cobbler’s children have no shoes” category! During my stay in Utah I visited with old college friends, Cathy and John and found their tires to be old and actually cracking. Naturally they became my +1 in Utah. Ya gotta love those extra funds.
As you know I always tried to do something fun in every place I visited and pick up magnets and postcards. You also know I took my little gnome figurine, Gimli, with me on the trip. Get this: I went to the Museum of Ancient Life and not only did they have gnomes throughout the place, there was even a Gnome Hall of Fame for those who found the 8 figurines and 5 painted gnomes around the museum. They had no idea who they were dealing with.
If you want to post – and why wouldn’t you? – will you tell us about something fun you’re into – maybe even a crazy guilty pleasure – that keeps the daily round from seeming ordinary? Do you collect Pez dispensers? Always order something from the menu you’ve never had before? Try a new ‘do once a week? You’re safe sharing – we’re all a little quirky here!
Stay safe,
Diana Hubner
