What exactly is a “Tire Halo”?
All tires have an abundance of information printed on the sidewall, but you must know how to find and interpret it. Tires have the letters DOT printed on them, followed by a series of numbers and letters indicating the manufacturing facility code, the tire size code, the manufacturer identity number, and finally, four numbers officially called the “tire identification number”. This is what I affectionately named the “Tire Halo”.
These numbers indicate the week and year that the tire was made. For instance, a Tire Halo containing “2519” means that the tire was made in the 25th week of 2019.
The diagram below can help you find the Tire Halo on your own tires.
